We are very excited to announce the opening of the application process for the 2014 Natural Leaders Network Legacy Camp. Children & Nature Network’s Natural Leaders Network is looking for dynamic and diverse young leaders (ages 18 – 29) who are committed to connecting others in their community to the natural world.

Applicants who are selected to participate in this year’s Legacy Camp will receive intensive training and ongoing support to create lasting social change in their communities to ensure that all children (and adults) experience the benefits of a meaningful, daily connection with the natural world. Leaders are trained in four key skill areas: Community Organizing, Outdoor Leadership, Event Planning, and Public Speaking.

Leaders leave the camp with:
‘¢ a new and powerful network of colleagues and friends
‘¢ practical skills to make a difference in their community
‘¢ increased leadership capacity for connecting people to nature in their career either in traditional or non-traditional “green” jobs

Fifty slots are available in the 2014 Natural Leaders Legacy Camp which will be held July 20th-25th at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, with generous support from the REI Foundation, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and The North Face and many individual supporters. All meals, lodging, program, and materials provided at no cost to participants. Transportation is not included. [+] find out more

Applications are due April 30th, 2014 and
the selections will be announced by May 15, 2014.
