ESSENCES/KEY POINTS
Anti-bike, anti-pedestrian culture — Share the road!
Resources for safe cycling: State booklet, helmet laws, hand signals
City code vs. State law – need to reconcile discrepancies. (HB 389?)
Websites – Running routes, Consider Biking, walking clubs, maps for Columbus.
Getting over the fear issue – for parents, especially
Mount Carmel – Basic Bike Safety course
City of Columbus – Bike Safety Rodeo (Nationwide Children’s donates helmets), Neighborhood PRIDE

School program – Learn how to share the road. (Bike demos at schools, PE requirement)
Monday – City Hall event – Green Bike program. Pilot program for city employees to have a pool of bikes they can use for getting around once they are at work.
Active Livers Club! – Get an email list. Sharon will coordinate!
3rd Hand Bicycle Cooperative. Students to staff bike corrals.
