OSU Extension offers opportunities for people to become “Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists”
February 1, 2009Not sure how to post to this site?
February 4, 2009You have probably heard of the Natural Play Areas at several of our Metro Parks (Franklin County, OH), which are amazing and fit right into the direction of the Leave No Child Inside movement. These are areas set aside to allow off-trail play, dirt-digging, creeking, tree climbing, etc. They have great signage designating the area and inspiring families to get down in the grass and get dirty!
Well the staff at Sharon Woods is trying to get more families knowledgeable and interested in the natural play area there.
They are doing a program 3/21 to specifically call attention to it:
OPEN FOREST
Sat. March 21st 10am-noon
Visit the Natural Play Area and have fun with your family. Follow the yellow signs to the meeting location.
I have a public program on 3/21 and it’s called Open Forest. We are going to attempt to try and get some more interest in our Natural Play Area here at Sharon Woods. I am assuming that most folks that will come are parents and families. I was wondering if you guys have any resources that I could direct parents to.
Our Parkscope descriptions are very short so that all of our programs and articles and everything fit into the magazine. I believe that there will be more detail on the website if participants click on the program title, once the site is updated.
