The Wilds Kicks off the Winter with Special Tours
Cumberland, OH ‘“ November through March, families can embark upon a behind the scene tour of the Wilds. Board a Winter Safari tour to closely observe and learn about rare and endangered animals during the winter months.
The peacefulness of winter is complimented by the incredible animals roaming over the snow-dusted hills. You can’t help but appreciate the uniqueness of Winter Safari at the Wilds, explains Denise Natoli Brooks, Director of Conservation Education.
After a light lunch is prepared by the Wilds’ professional chef, guests will depart on a heated safari transport for a guided tour through the crisp winter landscape. Guests will view large groups of animals, such as the Sichuan takin, Pere David’s deer, Przewalski’s wild horse, American bison, and many more cold-hardy species.
The tour also includes a stop at the Rhinoceros Management Center for exclusive access to the winter living quarters of the southern white rhinos and greater one-horned Asian rhinos. Then guests will finish with a spectacular view of the cheetahs, African wild dogs, and dholes at the Mid-sized Carnivore Conservation Center. Bring your family and friends to experience the adventure.
Passes are $35 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. Wilds’ members receive a $5 discount. Winter Safari Tours depart on the following Saturdays: November 6, November 13, December 4, January 8, January 15, January 22, January 29, February 5, February 12, February 19, February 16, March 5, March 12.
