Instructor Barbara Kay Velez Barbosa is a certified National Wildlife Federation Habitat Ambassador. She gives presentations and exhibits about fun, easy and inexpensive ways to attract butterflies, hummingbirds and other backyard wildlife to your yard. She created a Certified Wildlife Habitat, which includes a rain garden, four prairie gardens, and restored existing landscape to include over 150 native species of plants, shrubs and trees in her own yard. In return, her yard is home for everything from Monarch butterflies to the endangered Lark Sparrow. Barbara shares her passion for nature with her young grandsons, who help her with wildlife gardening. Her grandsons enjoy watching the caterpillars change into butterflies. She is a certified Master Gardener and uses her Early Childhood Education degree to be an Ohio Department of Natural Resources Facilitator. Barbara’s hobby is nature photography, as you will experience in her colorful PowerPoint show.
