Celebration In The Forest – December 12th ‘“ Wolf Run Park, Mount Vernon

Wolf Run Regional Park will serve as the site of a celebration of the season on Sunday, December 12th. The outdoor program will take place at 5:30 p.m. in one of the park’s towering stands of native timber, near the parking lot at 17621 Yauger Road, one mile east of Mount Vernon. Luminaries will guide visitors to a tree where a lighting of candles will mark the beginning of the celebration. The lighting of the tree with candles and singing will be followed by a bonfire and hot chocolate. The park district asks that participants bring a can or two of food with them to the event. Collected food items will be donated to a local food pantry. Participants should dress warmly for the event and wear sturdy shoes.
