October 19, 2010SRTS wants to hear your story
The Safe Routes to School National Partnership is compiling stories about SRTS related-issues and we need your help to gather compelling examples from around the country!
We are looking for stories on the following issues:
– Overcoming distance to school
– Physical activity increases on a daily basis (not just through special events)
– Reducing bus transportation costs
– Building community and local government partnerships
If you have an example of a community/school that received federal Safe Routes to School funding, please send their story to Brooke Driesse at brooke@saferoutespartnership.org. Any details you can provide such as mode shift and increased numbers of children walking and bicycling to/from school is important information we will include as well. We also need the name of the city/state and school. For your story to be considered, please send it to Brooke by close of business Tuesday, October 19. Thanks in advance for your help! Please consider sharing this email with your friends and colleagues who might be able to help too.
Best,
Brooke Driesse Communications Manager Safe Routes to School National Partnership
