Registration Available for The Conference on the Value of Play

Hello US Play Coalition Members,

I am pleased to announce that registration for The Conference on the Value of Play is now available at . As we have indicated in a previous email update, this conference will allow attendees to hear from national play experts and to share their own research and to learn together. Due to the generosity of our sponsors (listed below) we are pleased to be able to offer this conference to members of the US Play Coalition with a registration fee of only $199 for the entire conference–includes all conference events and four meals as well as snack breaks throughout the course of the conference. For those who are not able to attend the entire conference a single day registration is also available at a rate of $125–includes conference events, lunch and snack breaks on the day of attendance. These early bird rates are available through November 10th, 2010, but we encourage you to register as soon as possible and to reserve a room at the Martin Inn while there are still rooms available.

The Conference on the Value of Play will emphasize the health and educational implications of play while still focusing on the role of parks and recreation in facilitating play for all. We are thrilled to have Dr. Joe Frost, Parker Centennial Professor Emeritus from the University of Texas, serving as the Honorary Chair of the Program Committee for The Conference on the Value of Play. Dr. Frost and the program committee are working to create a program that will include nationally acclaimed keynote speakers who will address the role of play in facilitating physical and emotional health, cognitive and educational success, and overall quality of life for people of all ages.
