Eddie George adds star power to urban parks discussion – from Business First

Eddie George is going to Washington to testify before Congress on the importance of green spaces in our nation’s cities.
The former OSU football standout, who has been involved in running his Edge Group landscape design business since retiring from the National Football League, was asked by the American Society of Landscape Architects to testify on a panel discussing the importance of recreation and green spaces.
It’s in support of the Urban Revitalization and Livable Communities Act, which would provide federal grants for communities to rehabilitate and develop urban and suburban parks. The legislation was introduced in November. The Congressional Urban Caucus’ Urban Parks Task Force panel is scheduled for April 20.
