Success Story: Columbus schools turns ball field into nature preserve!

St. James the Less School, which sent three of its faculty to the Leave No Child INSIDE summit last fall, has some great news to report:
The LNCI members have worked with the church pastor, who oversees the school. The pastor, who was raised on a farm, is very interested in the movement and has granted the school permission to turn a seldom-used ballfield into a nature preserve. The ball field, which faces Huy Road in the North Linden area of Columbus, has a few mature trees at its edge, and soon will have more trees planted, in addition to native plants and grasses and possibly a small vegetable garden!

This natural space will be a respite in the midst of a neighborhood that is always fighting back against litter and pollution.
