ô”» Ordinance 1357-2007 allows the city to spend $175,000 for a series of improvements at Karns Park on the
city’s Southeast side, including a new shelter house and basketball courts,
ô”» Ordinance 1359-2007 allows the city to spend $50,000 for improvements at Maynard & Summit Park,
which include asphalt overlay, concrete, site furnishings and landscaping,
ô”» Ordinance 1360-2007 allows the city to spend $100,000 for several improvements to Somerset Park in
Northeast Columbus, including the removal of debris and the addition of a 525-foot boardwalk,
ô”» Ordinance 1689-2007 allows the city to spend $48,688 of grant money to install two new walking paths in
Big Run Park. The new walking paths will connect the park’s shelter house with the large playground and
the Derby Hill area. This project continues my commitment to promote healthier lifestyles and provide
better park access for Columbus residents,
ô”» Ordinance 1605-2007 allows the city to spend $5.75 million dollars from the Recreation and Parks Grant
Fund to enter into service contracts with thirty-two community agencies, including Meals on Wheels and
the American Red Cross. The service contracts allow the agencies to provide meals, adult day care,
homemaker, personal care, transportation, home repair and legal services to eligible seniors for 2008.
Forty-thousand individuals are expected to be served,
ô”» Ordinance 2067-2007 allows the city to spend $49,950 to renovate the heating ventilation and air
conditioning (HVAC) systems at the Columbus Aquatics Center, the Marion Franklin Recreation Center,
and the Gillie Senior Center.
ô”» Ordinance 2099-2007 allows the city to spend $70,336 to install a new pool liner at the Marion Franklin
Pool to ensure the facility will be ready by the start of summer.
