December 10, 2007The original committee that was responsible for convening the September Summit has been continuing to meet regularly.
We have been discussing several issues including:
1) The introduction of the nature activities and parks map/calendar on our Web site. (We are still ironing out some design issues to make it as user-friendly as possible.)
2) The possibility of seeking 501c3 status for LNCI Central Ohio, apart from its member organizations. (We are still researching this and would welcome any input or advice.)
3) Another summit or similar meeting, to come back together, to widen the circle, and to discuss where to go from here. (We are tossing around a few ideas on this, one of which is dependent on an outside player … we’ll keep you updated.)
4) The DVD and its future use. (We are working on purchasing rights to all photos so that we are in the clear for showing the DVD in the future in a variety of settings.)
5) Jenny Morgan and Alice Hohl will be giving a presentation at the January Ohio Camping Conference which is put on by the American Camp Association, the accrediting body for camps. We will be informing various camps of how they can tap into the movement to help increase enrollment at their camps!
