What’s Going to Happen?
Thank you so much for your commitment to the crucial issue of children and nature in our community. Several participants have contacted us, wondering what will be expected of them on the day of the summit.
This summit may be different from many of the other workshops and conferences you have encountered in your professional life. Rather than long formal programs, hours of passive listening and presentation/exhibition space, participants in the Leave No Child Inside Central Ohio Collaborative Summit will be asked to fully engage in conversation with each other about the issues.
Please bring:
- Your full energy, ideas and dreams.
- Information/brochures/flyers for any children and nature programs available through your department or organization. There will be a brochure table for the informational materials of participants. We will not have exhibit space, so there is no need to bring presentation setups or posters.
The participants will include experts in the following areas:
- Education
- Health experts
- Conservation/environmental groups
- Young people
- Land management
- Mental health
- Civic leaders
- Parents

We have engaged a professional facilitator who is trained in a technique called Open Space Technology-the purpose of which is to allow a large group to converse on the topic together, as well as to determine the topics of the small-group “breakout” sessions. This will allow all of you, who have been invited because of your expertise in your fields, to contribute fully to the direction and content of the day.
Thank you! We’re so looking forward to meeting all of you!
